“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become".
Cluster Management Meeting - Second one this year already held 03 March with the Principals. The agenda included the up-coming Middle Management Hui replacing the KM Team and PeaK-ICT events for 2010. We set the next PeaK-ICT Conference this year for Friday 06 August being Term 3, Week 3 - Venue: Putauaki. Middle Management Meeting Hui/Workshop - Held at North. I asked Noel if I could borrow the flat screen and that worked a charm. Our agenda for the day follows:

My list of choose to do's is increasing with each day. We're back from L@S and I have created an on-line PeaK-ICT survey and template for those who attended. I've also compiled my own list of ideas that I would now like to implement across the cluster and in my e-learners classroom. Here's just a 'wee' snippet... * Books to check out include '5 minds for the future' by Howard Gardiner and 'A whole new mind' by Daniel M Pink. * Find the 'do you believe' video * Check out digital lego/skillwise.com * Work out training dates with Breathe Technology * E-mail Norm re:2Animate * Include music for reflection time * Have students create 2nd life avatar - voki * Include brain games in learning * Get students to take photos of work every week * Adopt a computer teckie * Create a cluster/class delicious site * Keep notebooks for 1:1 conferencing GOIMO- Get Over It, Move On and WILD - Wellness, Innovation, Learning and Dialogue. Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product. --Eleanor Roosevelt
Our cluster wiki http://peak-ict.wikispaces.com/ needs a revamp and so I have planned to, over the next few days, work on each page and check all links. Here are a couple of ideas I already have in mind: 1. Home page - change layout, clustrmap, add link to google map and embed 2. About PeaK-ICT - Add bi-annual goals for 2010 3. School Blogs and Wikis - Call for material and links 4. Planning for ICT - Cluster share links to 2009, move KM Days, replace In-school Visits with Middle Management Hui/Workshops 5. Learning to Learn - Update PD readings and Clips to Share 6. New Curriculum - Search IT and Key Competencies 7. Cluster Resource Centre - Call for lesson plans and units to add I am looking forward to the L@S Conference in about three week's time. Those attending from PeaK-ICT include: Div, Row, Deb, (sharing registrations), Wendy, Meri, Stuart, Sue, Raylene Yvonne, Noel and myself. Think Abouts: - Really have to consider how PeaK-ICT teacher PD will be managed this time round - Planning for Middle Management Hui and possibly afternoon workshop. It was great to finally meet Lois and her hubby. We did the major tour 'thing', went to Ruaihona marae, into the Kawerau schools, Whakatane and back to Edgecumbe. Dinner at the Fishing Club was very nice. Lois showed me a couple of interesting sites that included what her students are doing with weebly. Thank you my e-buddy:)
I've started planning for e-Learners following the Putauaki inquiry learning tackle box. I think I've created an overkill of work (as I often plan for 5 days opposed to 2). Take a peek at this information found in my teacher weebly http://myweb2examples.weebly.com/index.html . You may also link to check our the e-Learners work pages http://elearnersteamatputauaki.wikispaces.com/ "How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us and keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each day and do what really matters most" - Stephen Covey.
It's holidays, the first week of January 2010 and this year I am in two minds again about working between two diaries. I've started to set up the innovative teachers companion for school with Term dates and events. I am also using an A5 diary for those 'quick' choose to do's and PeaK-ICT events. I'm expecting Lois and her husband to arrive from Australia this week. It will be almost a year since our first contact. |
